Maap Apex Deep Winter Gloves

Published

I have really gotten to love riding in the winter—but that is entirely due to advances in cold-weather kit. It’s easy to layer up with the tights and jerseys, but there are three parts of your body that really control comfort on the bike: your head, your feet, and your hands. Having different weight gloves, shoe covers, and head coverings lets you fine for just about any conditions. I’ve had good shoe covers, and have learned to layer hats and head/neck warmers—but great cold weather gloves are hard to come by. Everyone seems to have a different definition of ‘deep winter’ but here in New England we really mean it. I needed gloves that would work when the temps sank below freezing.

When Maap started teasing their new Deep Winter collection, I was intrigued. Good insulation, works with touch screens, nice cuff design. I ordered them as soon as they came out, and have not been disappointed. So far they’ve been perfect even at ‑3 to ‑5C and windy. I may update this later on in the winter, but so far they are by far the nicest winter gloves I’ve found.
